Alcanada golf

Alcanada golf is located in the bay of Alcudia, this is the golf course that possibly, and thanks to its characteristics, better summarises golf in Mallorca. Pine trees, olive trees and fabulous views of the sea. 14 of the 18 holes have these magnificent views, including the nearby island of Alcanada, where the lighthouse that is symbol of the golf course is.

This golf course was opened in 2003 and designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. One of the best golf courses in Mallorca, it is optimally managed; its big tee boxes, perfectly trimmed fairways and greens are always in excellent conditions.

It is a hilly golf course with wide fairways and a quiet easy rough. It has very few out of bounds and not a single water hazard. In general, it is not difficult to place the first shot in the fairway. The bunkers, on the contrary, have to be handled with care. They are strategically placed on the fairway and it is easy to end up there.

The greens are the strong side of the golf course: they are large, receptive and true. But they also offer a challenging putt since the greens are fast and can be hard to read. The wind can also be a challenging factor as it enters around noon from the bay of Alcudia and has a tendency to affect the back 9 holes.

Thanks to the perfect conditions of the golf course and the magnificent sea views, all levels of players will enjoy this golf course even though the result may differ. Furthermore, once the game is finished, you can continue to enjoy the sea view over the Alcudia’s bay by sitting on the beautiful terrace of the clubhouse. It’s very recommendable to enjoy a cold beer or have a nice dinner in the restaurant. The restaurant’s menu consists of a wide selection of Tapas (small portions to share) , main courses including some traditional dishes from Mallorca and also fish dishes inspired by the galician food.

Alcanada golf is one of the top three golf courses in Mallorca and considered by many to be one of the best golf courses in Spain.
